A member of the Croatian Armed Forces' Intelligence Regiment has secured first place in the individual category at the Best International Military Drone Team Competition (BIMDTC) in Ankara, Turkey, highlighting Croatia's growing expertise in military FPV drone operations.

The Croatian Ministry of Defense announced the result on October 24, confirming that the serviceman achieved the highest individual score in the competition, while the Croatian Intelligence Regiment team placed seventh in the team rankings.

Organized by the Turkish Land Forces Command, the international competition runs from October 17 to 26 and brings together military drone operators from countries across Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.

Participants are evaluated on their ability to operate first-person-view (FPV) drones, with competitive disciplines emphasizing flight precision, technical execution, racing performance and teamwork.

FPV technology enables operators to control unmanned aircraft using live video transmitted from onboard cameras. Such systems have become increasingly important in modern military operations, particularly for reconnaissance, battlefield surveillance and precision strikes.

The individual victory follows another recent result for Croatia's armed forces. Members of the Croatian Special Forces Command secured first place in the Tactical category at an international military FPV drone competition in London.

The two results demonstrate Croatia's participation in international military drone competitions as armed forces across Europe place greater emphasis on unmanned systems and operator training.

The Ministry of Defense has not disclosed the winning operator's identity, the FPV drone models used during the Ankara competition or the manufacturers of the equipment.
