Prague-based defense group Czechoslovak Group (CSG) has secured a position in a U.S. Army contracting program worth up to $4.2 billion, allowing its American subsidiary to compete for projects to modernize ammunition manufacturing facilities across the United States.

The company announced on November 6 that MSM North America had been selected as one of the qualified contractors under a five-year Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) administered by Army Contracting Command at Rock Island.

The $4.2 billion figure represents the combined ceiling available to all selected contractors, rather than an individual award to CSG. Specific modernization projects will be competed and awarded separately.

The selection nevertheless represents another expansion of the Czech group's presence in the American defense industrial base, where it is increasingly positioning itself as both an ammunition manufacturer and a supplier of industrial production capabilities.

## Seven U.S. Ammunition Facilities in Scope

The U.S. Army program covers the modernization of seven government-owned ammunition facilities operated by private-sector contractors.

The initiative includes upgrading existing production lines, building new manufacturing infrastructure, introducing automation and expanding industrial capacity. Potential work also extends to commissioning, maintenance and operational support.

Among the facilities covered are Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Missouri, Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Scranton Army Ammunition Plant in Pennsylvania, and the Quad City Cartridge Case Facility in Illinois.

The broader program also includes facilities producing explosives, propellants and other ammunition-related materials.

Under the MATOC structure, contractors admitted to the program can compete for individual task orders according to the Army's requirements. Participation does not guarantee a particular project or revenue volume.

## MSM North America Builds on Iowa Ammunition Project

The framework selection follows MSM North America's earlier contract to develop the Future Artillery Complex at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant.

The project, awarded in August 2025 and valued at up to approximately $635 million according to CSG, covers the design, construction and commissioning of a new large-caliber ammunition loading facility.

The planned complex is designed to load as many as 36,000 rounds of 155 mm artillery ammunition per month once operational in 2029.

MSM North America serves as prime contractor and systems integrator, bringing together American industrial partners and technical expertise from CSG's European ammunition businesses.

[AdriaDefense previously reported on the Iowa contract](https://www.adriadefense.com/csg-subsidiary-wins-632-million-u-s-army-contract-to-build-advanced-ammunition-facility-in-iowa/), which established an important reference project for the group's expansion into U.S. military industrial infrastructure.

## European Production Expertise Enters the U.S. Market

CSG's ammunition operations span several parts of the production chain, including propellants, energetic materials, ammunition components and finished rounds.

That industrial experience has become increasingly relevant as the United States and European NATO countries seek to expand production capacity and reduce bottlenecks in ammunition manufacturing.

MSM North America was established in 2024 to develop the group's American ammunition business. Led by CEO Jason Gaines, the company is headquartered in St. Petersburg, Florida.

For CSG, participation in the new Army framework creates another channel through which its European manufacturing expertise can compete for U.S. government projects.

The commercial significance will ultimately depend on which task orders MSM North America wins during the five-year program. No additional project value or guaranteed share of the $4.2 billion ceiling was announced with the selection.
