**FOREUS** is a Vienna-based European private intelligence service combining investigations, operational intelligence and proprietary technology. The company supports corporations, financial institutions, law firms and public-sector clients in areas including white-collar crime investigations, asset tracing, corporate intelligence, OSINT, litigation support, compliance and strategic risk analysis.

FOREUS traces its roots to 2021, when the company was founded in Vienna and began taking on assignments involving crypto forensics, asset tracing, background checks, person investigations and due diligence. Its capabilities subsequently expanded into litigation support, cross-border investigations, corporate intelligence and compliance, while the company developed its own intelligence systems and infrastructure. 

### From Investigations to an Intelligence Technology Stack

Technology now plays a central role in the FOREUS model. Its current portfolio includes **FOSX**, a case-management platform for OSINT, investigations, risk assessments and collaborative intelligence workflows; **HIDX**, an Intelligence Data Explorer covering corporate intelligence, sanctions, beneficial ownership, media, litigation and asset tracking; **HIDX X1**, an AI-powered workspace for large-scale analysis, graph intelligence and advanced investigations; and **GOVX**, sovereign intelligence infrastructure designed for governments, law enforcement and critical institutions. 

Alongside those platforms, **COMX** forms the company’s intelligence-as-a-service offering, focused on critical operations and mission execution when information needs to be translated into operational action. 

The broader shift is significant. FOREUS now describes its mission as fighting white-collar crime globally and its ambition as becoming Europe’s leading private intelligence provider, positioning the company at the intersection of traditional investigative work, human expertise and sovereign intelligence technology. 

### From Economic Crime to Cross-Border Intelligence

FOREUS works across economic crime and fraud investigations, asset tracing, litigation support, corporate intelligence, background investigations, blockchain intelligence, compliance intelligence and strategic risk analysis. The company has also expanded its activities beyond Austria, including across the DACH region, Southeast Europe, East Africa and South America. 

In 2026, FOREUS also disclosed intelligence-gathering training for military and police special operations units in Central Asia, illustrating an expansion beyond purely corporate investigations into institutional and security-sector work. 

### The People Behind FOREUS

FOREUS is currently led by three co-founders: **Stefan Embacher**, Co-Founder and CEO; **Ricardo Hager**, Co-Founder and CFO; and **Jakob Brandstätter**, Co-Founder and COO. Its wider management team includes Nikolina Plisnic as Marketing Team Lead, Tobias Dietrich as Director Security & Analysis Operations and Ferdinand Neubauer in HUMINT Operations. 

The company also maintains an international advisory board chaired by **Moshe Buller**, with members drawn from intelligence, law enforcement, security and related fields.
