**Israeli-founded cybersecurity company Sentra has raised $150 million in Series C financing led by Capital One Ventures, with plans to expand in Europe as businesses seek stronger controls over the data accessed by artificial intelligence systems.**

Sentra, headquartered in New York and Tel Aviv, announced the investment on November 4, bringing its total funding to more than $250 million.

Existing investors Bessemer Venture Partners, Zeev Ventures, Standard Investments, Munich Re Ventures and Key1 Capital also participated. Capital One Ventures will receive representation on the company's board of directors.

Sentra reported year-over-year growth exceeding 300%, although it has not disclosed its current revenue or valuation.

The financing comes as enterprises increasingly deploy autonomous AI agents capable of accessing databases, retrieving sensitive information and performing tasks across connected software environments.

## Securing Data Before AI Agents Access It

Sentra develops data security technology designed to identify sensitive information, map access permissions and reduce the risk of unauthorized exposure across enterprise IT systems.

Its platform brings together data security posture management, data detection and response, data access governance and data loss prevention.

A central focus is controlling what AI agents and other non-human identities can access within corporate infrastructure.

Unlike conventional applications that primarily operate through direct human interaction, AI agents may execute tasks autonomously and access several systems using inherited credentials or permissions.

That creates a different security challenge for organizations handling confidential commercial information, financial records, intellectual property and other sensitive data.

Sentra says its technology continuously maps sensitive information and the identities authorized to access it, identifies excessive permissions and supports automated responses when suspicious activity is detected.

The platform is designed to analyze data within a customer's existing environment rather than requiring sensitive information to be transferred into a separate system.

## Expansion Plans Target Europe

The new investment will support product development, recruitment and international sales expansion.

In an interview published by Israeli business newspaper Globes on November 4, co-founder and CEO Yoav Regev identified Europe as an important expansion market, with particular attention to London.

Sentra also highlighted European data protection and AI governance requirements as factors contributing to demand for better visibility into sensitive information and access rights.

For European companies, AI adoption introduces security questions that extend beyond protection against external cyberattacks. Organizations must also understand how automated software interacts with confidential information and whether its permissions are appropriate.

These issues are particularly relevant to regulated industries and organizations operating across multiple jurisdictions.

## Founded by Former Israeli Military Cyber Leaders

Sentra was founded in 2021 by Yoav Regev, Asaf Kochan, Ron Reiter and Yair Cohen.

Regev previously served in Israel's Unit 8200, including in a senior cyber leadership role, while Kochan is a former commander of the military intelligence unit.

The company employs approximately 130 people, according to Globes, including around 65 in Tel Aviv.

Its expansion illustrates the continuing commercial role of Israel's cybersecurity sector in developing technologies used by international enterprises.

Although Sentra is not primarily a defense contractor, its focus on sensitive data, non-human identities and automated access control addresses security challenges relevant to government agencies, defense suppliers and intelligence-intensive organizations.

The $150 million investment gives the company additional resources to compete in a rapidly expanding market, but Sentra has not announced a specific European defense contract in connection with the financing.
