The Polish Armed Forces have received the first LOTR Kleszcz armored reconnaissance vehicles manufactured by domestic defense company AMZ-Kutno, marking the beginning of deliveries under a procurement program covering up to 286 vehicles.

The first two vehicles were delivered to the 15th Giżycko Mechanized Brigade, part of Poland's 16th Pomeranian Mechanized Division. The Polish Armament Agency confirmed that deliveries began on October 21 and that another batch is expected before the end of 2026.

The new 4x4 amphibious vehicles are intended to replace aging Soviet-designed BRDM-2 reconnaissance vehicles currently serving with Polish Army reconnaissance units.

## AMZ-Kutno Begins Deliveries Under PLN 800 Million Contract

The initial deliveries are being carried out under an August 2024 contract awarded to AMZ-Kutno for 28 Kleszcz vehicles, including logistics and training packages.

Valued at approximately PLN 800 million, the contract provides for deliveries between 2026 and 2028.

The agreement implements a broader framework signed in February 2024 for up to 286 Kleszcz reconnaissance vehicles through 2035.

A second implementation contract, signed on May 29, 2026, covers another 24 vehicles at approximately PLN 570 million excluding VAT. Financed through the European Union's SAFE program, those vehicles are intended to support Polish Army units operating South Korean K2GF and K2PL main battle tanks, with deliveries scheduled through 2030.

The two implementation contracts together cover 52 vehicles. Additional procurement under the broader framework will require further orders.

## Kleszcz Combines Polish Vehicle Production with Turkish Sensors

Developed on AMZ-Kutno's Bóbr-3 amphibious platform, the Kleszcz is designed to conduct battlefield reconnaissance, collect surveillance information and transmit encrypted intelligence to command units.

The vehicle accommodates a five-person reconnaissance team and has a maximum permissible weight of approximately 15.6 tonnes.

Its equipment includes battlefield surveillance radar, electro-optical sensors and integrated communications systems. The vehicle is also equipped with a remotely operated Kongsberg Protector Dual weapon station, combining 12.7 mm and 7.62 mm machine guns.

A significant international component of the Kleszcz program is supplied by Turkish defense electronics manufacturer ASELSAN.

As [previously reported by Adria Defense](https://www.adriadefense.com/poland-orders-24-aselsan-arsus-systems-for-kleszcz-vehicles/), ASELSAN signed an additional agreement with AMZ-Kutno in September 2026 to supply 24 ARSUS reconnaissance and surveillance systems, with deliveries scheduled for 2028 and 2029.

The ARSUS system integrates radar and electro-optical sensors on a stabilized mast, supporting target detection, identification and tracking.

Kleszcz was developed by a Polish consortium led by AMZ-Kutno in cooperation with three military research institutes specializing in communications, weapons technology and chemical defense.

The October 21 delivery marks the transition from development and procurement into initial fielding, with the first vehicles now arriving at operational Polish Army units.
