# Polish Defence.Hub Raises PLN 8M for MACS Counter-Drone System

Polish defense technology company Defence.Hub S.A. has completed a PLN 8.01 million share issue to finance development of the MACS counter-drone system, with investor subscriptions reaching PLN 13.61 million. The Warsaw-listed company allocated its Series G shares on August 26 after demand exceeded the planned offering, providing new capital for engineering, artificial intelligence development and field testing of the Polish counter-UAS platform.

Defence.Hub said subscriptions reached PLN 13.61 million against an issue value of PLN 8.01 million. The company described the transaction as the second-largest pre-emptive rights offering in the history of NewConnect, the alternative market operated by the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

The public offering ran from July 29 to August 17 at an issue price of PLN 0.10 per share. Dom Maklerski INC S.A. acted as the brokerage house for the transaction.

## New funding will accelerate the MACS counter-drone program

Defence.Hub plans to direct the proceeds primarily toward MACS, a modular counter-unmanned aerial system developed with Poznań-based Seraphim Defence Systems P.S.A.

The company identified four main areas for the new funding: mechanical and electronic development, optimization of artificial intelligence models for dedicated hardware accelerators, expansion of its engineering and research team, and field trials under conditions intended to approximate operational environments.

MACS is being developed as a multi-sensor counter-UAS platform for detecting and neutralizing small unmanned aerial vehicles, including first-person-view drones. Defence.Hub has specifically identified fiber-optic-controlled FPV drones and systems using artificial intelligence as threats the platform is intended to address.

The project remained at Technology Readiness Level 4 as of Defence.Hub's June 22 development update, corresponding to validation of components in laboratory conditions. At that point, the company reported having a physical laboratory model and a proprietary computer vision model trained using the Seraphim Drone Detection Dataset.

Work has also included combining RGB and thermal imaging sensors. The broader concept uses sensor fusion and artificial intelligence to detect and classify targets before supporting the counter-drone response.

Seraphim Defence Systems was a finalist in the NATO Innovation Challenge 2025 and participates in the European Union Defence Innovation Scheme Matchmaking Programme.

## Defence.Hub plans first counter-UAS sales in 2027

Defence.Hub does not plan to wait for completion of the full MACS platform before attempting to generate revenue from the technology.

Its first planned commercial product is a passive drone detection module designed for installation on civilian and military vehicles. Defence.Hub plans to introduce that system to the market in 2027.

A second commercialization path covers licensing artificial intelligence, machine learning and sensor-fusion software to defense companies and system integrators. The company also intends to continue development of the complete autonomous MACS turret, with operational readiness and preparation for serial production targeted within 24 months.

That timeline remains a company target rather than an established procurement or production schedule. MACS has not yet reached the technological maturity associated with an operational production system, making field validation and subsequent development stages central to whether Defence.Hub can meet its commercialization plan.

## Polish counter-drone investment extends beyond major state programs

The Defence.Hub financing is small compared with Poland's major state-backed air defense and counter-UAS procurement programs, but it illustrates another part of the country's expanding drone defense ecosystem: private capital funding early-stage technology development.

Poland is already investing in larger counter-drone capabilities through the SAN program, which brings together Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, Advanced Protection Systems and Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace. The program is intended to create an integrated counter-UAS layer within Poland's wider air defense architecture.

Private Polish companies are expanding in parallel. Gdynia-based Advanced Protection Systems, which develops the SKYctrl counter-drone system, was recruiting for 13 engineering, software and manufacturing positions in August as it expands its counter-UAS activities.

Defence.Hub is pursuing a different stage of that market. Rather than financing an established system already entering large-scale procurement, its Series G proceeds will fund the transition of MACS from laboratory validation toward field testing and eventual commercialization.

The level of investor demand provides Defence.Hub with its targeted funding, but the next milestones will be technological rather than financial. The company now has to advance MACS beyond TRL 4, conduct field testing and move its first detection products toward the planned 2027 market launch.
