Abu Dhabi Gears Up for Record-Breaking UMEX & SimTEX 2026 in January
UMEX and SimTEX 2026 will take place in Abu Dhabi from 20–22 January, marking the largest edition yet and showcasing global innovations in unmanned systems, AI, robotics, and simulation technologies.
Abu Dhabi, UAE — Abu Dhabi is preparing to host the largest edition yet of the Unmanned Systems Exhibition (UMEX) and the Simulation and Training Exhibition (SimTEX), set to run from 20–22 January 2026 at the ADNEC Centre. The events will spotlight cutting-edge developments in unmanned systems, artificial intelligence, robotics and simulation technologies that are transforming defence, commercial and civil sectors globally.
Organised by ADNEC Group in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Defence, this year’s edition marks a significant expansion since UMEX and SimTEX became standalone events in 2015. Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs and Chairman of the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council, the exhibitions are expected to attract an unprecedented number of exhibitors, government delegations, industry leaders and international technology organizations.
Brigadier General Mohammed Obaid Al Marshoudi, Chairman of the Organising Committee, said the expanded platform will accelerate advancements across sectors driven by unmanned technologies. “These exhibitions are a strategic catalyst for innovation,” he said. “They provide a collaborative environment for national and global stakeholders to present solutions that address future industrial and societal needs.”
Organisers confirmed record participation from leading defence and technology firms, research institutions, and commercial innovators showcasing drones, autonomous platforms, simulation systems and AI-enabled solutions. The exhibitions will also host senior policymakers and decision-makers from around the world, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s growing role as a global hub for advanced technology development.
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Group CEO of ADNEC Group, emphasized the significance of the event in positioning Abu Dhabi as a preferred destination for high-tech investment and knowledge exchange. “Our preparations reflect the city’s capability to host world-class specialised exhibitions and strengthen ties between public and private sectors,” he said. “UMEX and SimTEX 2026 will open new opportunities for collaboration, research and commercial growth.”
The conference programme will feature international experts addressing strategic trends in robotics, autonomous systems and AI applications across transport, logistics, energy and industry. Delegates are expected to gain insights into how these technologies are reshaping global markets and redefining operational efficiencies.
In addition to showcasing technological breakthroughs, organisers say UMEX and SimTEX will support economic diversification and contribute to the UAE’s long-term vision of a knowledge-based economy powered by innovation and advanced industries.
The expanded 2026 edition is seen as a milestone in reinforcing the UAE’s leadership in autonomous systems and future technologies, while offering local companies a global launchpad to scale solutions and access new markets.
