AYMO Ventures Invests in Croatian FPV Drone Developer Orqa
Croatian venture capital firm AYMO Ventures has invested in Orqa, a developer and manufacturer of First Person View (FPV) drone systems. The investment marks the first time a Croatian VC has backed the Osijek-based company.
AYMO Ventures has announced an investment in Croatian drone technology developer Orqa, becoming the first domestic venture capital firm to back the company.
Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Osijek, Orqa develops and manufactures First Person View (FPV) drone systems and associated electronics. The company was established by Srdjan Kovacevic, Vlatko Matijevic, and Ivan Jelusic.
Orqa operates as a vertically integrated developer of drone technologies, designing and producing key system components internally. According to the company, its hardware and electronics are manufactured within the European Union, reflecting a supply chain approach that differs from many commercial drone manufacturers that rely heavily on Asian production.
The company initially built its reputation in the FPV racing and professional drone community, focusing on high-performance video transmission systems, headsets, and control technologies. FPV platforms allow operators to control drones using live video feeds from onboard cameras, enabling precise maneuvering and low-latency operations.
Industry demand for FPV systems has expanded significantly in recent years as the technology has found applications beyond hobbyist and racing communities. These include inspection, industrial operations, and increasingly defense-related use cases where agile, low-cost unmanned systems are required.
AYMO Ventures indicated that the investment aligns with its strategy of supporting technology companies from Croatia capable of competing internationally. The firm stated that Orqa represents a category of advanced engineering companies developing hardware and robotics technologies with global market potential.
Looking ahead, Orqa is working to expand its portfolio beyond FPV drone systems toward broader autonomous robotics applications, according to company information. The firm’s vertically integrated production model is expected to support future development of both drone platforms and related technologies.
The investment reflects growing interest from regional investors in companies operating within the European drone and robotics ecosystem, a sector that has gained strategic importance amid increasing demand for unmanned systems across commercial, security, and defense domains.
