Bosnia’s UNIS Ginex Plans New Strategic Production Facilities
UNIS Ginex is planning the construction of two specialised facilities aimed at strengthening supply security and operational control in the production of critical primer materials. The project includes in-house trinitroresorcinol (TNR) production and dedicated hazardous-materials storage.
Bosnia and Herzegovina–based defense manufacturer UNIS Ginex is preparing an investment project focused on expanding and strengthening its production infrastructure in Gorazde. The company plans to build two specialised facilities within its existing industrial complex, where its main manufacturing operations are already located.
One facility will be dedicated to the production of trinitroresorcinol (TNR), an essential raw material used in the manufacture of lead styphnate, which is a key component in primer production. In-house TNR production is intended to improve the security of raw material supply and provide greater control over a critical part of the production process.
The second facility will be a storage warehouse for acids and toxic chemicals, designed for the handling and storage of hazardous substances in accordance with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. The facility is planned to support existing and future production requirements while ensuring compliance with industrial safety norms.
According to the company, the project is aimed at improving operational reliability and reducing dependence on external suppliers, particularly in the context of ongoing challenges in global supply chains. The new facilities are also expected to support potential increases in production capacity in line with market demand for ammunition components and initiating explosives.
UNIS Ginex reported revenues of KM 102 million in the previous year, continuing a trend of steady growth. In comparison, the company generated KM 78.5 million in revenues the year before, reflecting continued expansion of its operations in Gorazde.
