CSG opens permanent Brussels office, appoints Hamáček to oversee strategic direction
The Czech industrial and technology group CSG has opened a permanent office in Brussels, marking a first for a defense company originating from the Czech and Slovak Republics. The new representation is intended to strengthen the group’s engagement with EU institutions and industry bodies.
The industrial and technology group Czechoslovak Group has opened a permanent office in Brussels at the beginning of February 2026, expanding its institutional presence at the core of European Union policymaking. The group is owned by Czech entrepreneur Michal Strnad.
According to the company, the Brussels office makes CSG the first defense company originating from the Czech and Slovak Republics to establish a permanent representation in the Belgian capital. The move reflects the group’s intention to engage more directly with EU institutions, regulatory authorities, and European defense-industrial stakeholders.
The new office is headed by Daniel Dobiáš, who is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Brussels representation and coordinating CSG’s operational engagement with European partners. Strategic direction of the office will be overseen by Jan Hamáček, who serves as CSG’s Director for External Relations and is tasked with aligning the Brussels presence with the group’s broader policy and industrial objectives.
The establishment of the Brussels office follows CSG’s recent accession to ASD, the main industry body representing Europe’s aerospace, security, and defense sectors. Company officials indicated that the permanent presence is intended to support sustained participation in EU-level discussions on defense industrial policy, regulation, and cooperative programs.
CSG has expanded significantly in recent years, building a multinational industrial portfolio spanning defense, aerospace, ammunition production, automotive manufacturing, and heavy engineering. A permanent base in Brussels positions the group closer to EU legislative processes and industry coordination mechanisms as European defense integration continues to deepen.
