Estonia and Germany Report Growing Momentum in Defense Industry Cooperation
Estonia and Germany are reporting growing momentum in defence-industry cooperation, with strong interest from German companies in Estonian solutions. A Berlin seminar bringing together more than 60 firms highlighted Estonia’s export ambitions and expanding bilateral industrial ties.
Estonia and Germany are seeing rising interest in bilateral defense-industry cooperation, Estonian Minister of Defence Hanno Pevkur said during a defense industry seminar and networking event held in Berlin.
The event, organised to support Estonian defence companies in establishing partnerships with German counterparts, brought together industry representatives, policymakers, and business leaders from both countries. Its primary aim was to facilitate direct contacts and accelerate cooperation between Estonian innovators and Germany’s established defence-industrial base.
Speaking in Berlin, Pevkur highlighted Estonia’s long-term export ambitions and the strong reception Estonian solutions received during the visit. He said Estonia has set a clear objective for its defence industry to reach an annual export volume of €1.4 billion by 2030, adding that discussions in Germany demonstrated concrete interest in Estonian capabilities. According to Pevkur, Estonian defence products and technologies are increasingly competitive on the international market and meet even the most demanding standards.
Estonia’s Ambassador to Germany, Marika Linntam, noted that interest in bilateral defense cooperation has been steadily increasing. She said the defense industry seminar at the Estonian embassy — attended by representatives of more than 60 companies — underlined the role of the embassy’s business support centre as an effective platform for advancing industrial and commercial ties between the two countries.
The Estonian Ministry of Defence said such events play a key role in helping domestic defence companies expand internationally, access new markets, and strengthen their competitiveness through cooperation with leading European partners. In total, 32 Estonian and 31 German defense companies participated in the Berlin seminar, reflecting broad interest on both sides in deepening industrial collaboration.
