Milan Blagojevic Namenska, a Serbian producer of propellants and energetic materials, is advancing capacity expansion at its Lucani facility as demand for ammunition inputs remains elevated across international markets.

The company manufactures single-base and double-base propellants and related explosive materials used in small-caliber and artillery ammunition. As an upstream supplier, it plays a critical role in supporting both domestic production and export-oriented supply chains, including deliveries to European and partner markets.

Recent investment efforts have focused on modernizing production lines, increasing throughput, and improving process efficiency. These upgrades are intended to address higher order volumes and reduce bottlenecks in the supply of key energetic materials.

Workforce growth has accompanied the expansion, with additional hiring aimed at sustaining higher production rates. The company has also implemented updated safety and operational measures, reflecting the technical and regulatory requirements associated with explosives manufacturing.

During a recent visit to the facility, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic reviewed ongoing production and modernization activities. According to official statements, he indicated continued state support for strengthening industrial capacity in the ammunition sector and emphasized the importance of maintaining reliable output.

The government’s position reflects broader industry dynamics, as European manufacturers face sustained pressure to increase ammunition production. In this environment, suppliers of propellants and explosives remain a critical constraint within the supply chain, placing added importance on facilities such as Lucani.

Milan Blagojevic Namenska’s expansion aligns with these trends, with a focus on scaling output while maintaining compliance with safety standards. The company remains a key contributor to Serbia’s defense-industrial base and its export-oriented manufacturing segment.
