OneDrone: Croatia Holds Strong Potential to Become a Regional Drone and CUAV Hub
Slovenian drone company OneDrone is expanding its regional footprint through its Croatian branch, offering full-service UAV and CUAV solutions that combine training, industrial operations, and advanced autonomous systems.
ZAGREB – The Slovenian company OneDrone has been building its position as a leading regional full-service drone provider for more than a decade. Its Croatian branch, opened in 2022, is becoming an increasingly important part of that ecosystem. In an interview with Finansije.hr, Goran Bajci, co-owner and director of OneDrone Croatia, discussed the company’s growth, regional expansion, and the evolving role of drones in both civil and defense sectors.
From Aerial Services to Counter-Drone Systems
Operating from its office and demo center in Sesvete, OneDrone Croatia offers the full spectrum of drone-related services — sales, training, servicing, and aerial operations. “We focus heavily on professional EASA-standard training in both the open and specific categories,” says Bajci. “Our team performs inspections of solar plants, LiDAR mapping, thermography, multispectral imaging for agriculture, aerial videography, and CUAV (Counter-UAV) operations.”
The company is also developing counter-drone technologies, a rapidly expanding segment driven by increasing security concerns and the need to protect critical infrastructure. “CUAV is one of the fastest-growing areas, and we see strong demand across the region,” Bajci explains.
Building Knowledge Through the OneDrone Academy
The OneDrone Academy trains new and experienced drone operators through hands-on courses covering everything from basic controls to advanced missions in the specific category. “We stay connected with clients long after the training ends,” Bajci notes. “Our fleet management system ensures that operators receive continuous operational and technical support.”
Croatia: A Market on the Rise
Although Croatia is not yet among Europe’s top drone markets, Bajci sees enormous potential: “There’s growing demand in security, surveillance, inspection, and agriculture. The market is expanding beyond aerial drones — ground and maritime systems are becoming increasingly relevant too.”
Dock Systems and Autonomous Operations
Globally, one of the fastest-developing trends is the DJI Dock — an automated station that allows drones to operate without a human pilot on-site. “We’re working directly with the manufacturer on legal implementation in Croatia. Once approved, it will be a turning point for automated drone operations,” says Bajci.
Sustainability and R&D Focus
Within the OneDrone ecosystem, several research and development projects focus on new standards, safety frameworks, automated monitoring systems, and CUAV testing. The company also develops solutions for precision agriculture, renewable energy monitoring, and thermal inspections of solar plants — combining efficiency with environmental responsibility.
Looking Ahead to 2026–2027
“Our goal is to become the leading UAV and CUAV provider in the region,” Bajci emphasizes. “We want clients to see OneDrone not only as a service or training center but as a strategic partner for all drone and counter-drone needs. Croatia and Slovenia remain our strongest markets, but we’re also expanding into Montenegro and North Macedonia.”
