Oves Enterprise Unveils Development of Romania’s First Autonomous Cruise Missile, Powered by Nemesis AI

Oves Enterprise has officially confirmed one of the most ambitious defense-tech projects in Romania to date: the development of its first autonomous cruise missile, internally designated SAHARA Autonomous System.

The announcement follows several years of intensive collaboration with global defence partners operating drones and missile systems in active operational environments. According to the company, SAHARA was conceived as a fully integrated weapons system, with both the hardware architecture and Oves’ proprietary Nemesis AI platform engineered together from the ground up.

Real-Time Autonomy and On-Premise AI

SAHARA’s defining feature is its ability to adapt its trajectory and mission behaviour in real time, a requirement increasingly central to next-generation autonomous weapons.
Nemesis AI runs fully on-premise, enabling operators to upload mission-specific AI models, flight profiles, and operational parameters directly in the field — without cloud dependency.

Deep Vertical Engineering in Romania

Nearly every component of the missile is designed and manufactured in-house in Romania — including the fuselage, electronics, processing units, flight controller, and the AI infrastructure itself.
Only the turbo-jet engine and optical sensors are externally sourced.

The missile integrates Oves’ Super Sensor Fusion module, enabling continuous multi-source navigation checks across several satellite systems and onboard sensors for increased resilience and targeting accuracy.

Investment and Roadmap

Oves has already invested over €1 million into SAHARA, with an additional €2 million allocated for further optimisation and testing.
The first live demonstration is scheduled for May 2026, followed by full-capability presentations before the end of the year.

The company says a detailed technical press release has already been distributed to international media, with several outlets picking up the story.
