Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) has signed an investment agreement with Jelcz Sp. z o.o. that will initiate a major capital injection into the Polish military truck manufacturer as part of efforts to expand domestic defense production capacity.

The agreement provides for the recapitalization of Jelcz with approximately €177 million, funding that PGZ received from the State Treasury through Poland’s Capital Investment Fund. According to the group, the investment will support the construction of a new manufacturing facility and allow the company to significantly increase its production capacity.

The agreement was signed by PGZ Management Board President Adam Leszkiewicz and Jelcz Management Board members Mariusz Ptak and Małgorzata Węgłowska-Juskowiak. The signing ceremony was attended by Konrad Gołota, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of State Assets.

According to PGZ, the planned investment is intended to strengthen the industrial capabilities of Jelcz and support the company’s role as a primary supplier of heavy military trucks and specialized vehicle platforms for the Polish Armed Forces.

Jelcz produces a range of high-mobility trucks and chassis used across multiple Polish land systems, including logistics vehicles and platforms supporting missile, artillery, and air defense systems. Expanding production capacity is expected to help the manufacturer meet increasing demand linked to Poland’s ongoing military modernization and force expansion.

The investment forms part of broader efforts by the Polish government and the PGZ defense group to expand domestic defense manufacturing capacity and secure supply chains for key military equipment.
