European defence supplier Rheinmetall has revealed new personal protection equipment, with a focus on weight reduction, modularity and operational flexibility, at the Enforce Tac 2026 trade fair in Nuremberg, Germany.

The Düsseldorf-based technology group introduced an updated combat helmet constructed from advanced high-performance polyethylene composite. The design achieves significant weight savings while maintaining ballistic protection levels aligned with current standards. Two profile options — high cut and full cut — are available to suit different mission needs and integration with communication or night-vision systems. Improved retention elements and internal padding aim to boost comfort during extended wear, and refined attachment points support accessories without requiring auxiliary components such as traditional hairnets.

Alongside head protection, Rheinmetall showcased a newly developed modular body armour system intended for military applications. The hard- and soft-component armour modules can be configured to meet varied threat environments, supporting front, back and flank protection. Optional hard plates extend ballistic resistance against higher calibre threats, while additional inserts address risks from stabbing and fragmentation. Load-bearing accessories, including chest rigs and integrated pouches, accompany the armour system for ammunition and mission gear carriage.

By presenting both helmet and body armour solutions simultaneously, Rheinmetall reinforces its position in the personal protection segment, supplying equipment tailored to evolving operational demands. The developments come as part of the company’s broader tactical portfolio on display at the event, which also includes armoured vehicles, soldier systems and electronic solutions.
