Two Central European Defence Firms Join European Industry Body ASD
Two major Central European defence manufacturers, the Czech-based Czechoslovak Group and Poland’s WB Group, have been admitted as full members of the Aerospace, Security and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD).
The AeroSpace, Security and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD), a key Brussels-based industry organisation representing Europe’s defence, aerospace, security and space sectors, has approved the membership of two new industrial players from Central Europe. Czechoslovak Group (CSG) of the Czech Republic and Poland’s WB Group were unanimously accepted by ASD’s board, with memberships becoming effective at the start of January 2026.
CSG is a Prague-headquartered industrial and technology group with operations spanning defence, security and aerospace, including military vehicles, ammunition and weapon systems. WB Group, based in the Warsaw region, is one of Poland’s largest private defence firms and has established capabilities in unmanned systems, secure communications, reconnaissance technologies and command-and-control solutions.
Their admission increases ASD’s direct corporate membership to 28 companies and brings the total network—including national associations—to representation from 21 European countries. The enlarged roster highlights the association’s broadening geographic and technological reach within the European defence industrial ecosystem.
From an industry perspective, CSG and WB Group’s inclusion strengthens ASD’s Central and Eastern European contingent at a time when European defence production and collaboration are increasingly prioritised across EU and NATO programmes. ASD engages with EU institutions on regulatory, competitiveness and research frameworks affecting defence and related high-tech sectors.
