UAE and Spain Establish $1.5 Billion Joint Venture for Weapon Systems Production

A new industrial partnership aims to supply advanced weapon-station technology to domestic and international markets. The UAE’s EDGE Group and Spain’s EM&E Group have signed a strategic agreement to form a UAE-based defence joint venture backed by a commercial pipeline valued at about USD 1.5 billion.

EDGE Group and EM&E Group will combine their respective platforms and technologies to produce advanced remote weapon stations and investigate broader co-development of integrated defence systems. The venture is planned to serve the UAE armed forces and selected export markets.

The agreement was concluded at EM&E Group’s headquarters with diplomatic representation from the UAE. The partners said the venture will generate engineering, sales and programme management jobs in the UAE and support long-term industrial cooperation in defence technology.
