Ukraine Issues Demining Stamp Highlighting Personnel and DOK-ING Systems
Ukraine has unveiled a new postage stamp recognizing deminers working across contaminated areas of the country. The initiative highlights the scale of mine contamination and the operational role of clearance efforts in national recovery.
Ukraine has introduced a new postage stamp titled Returning to Life: Demining Heroes, marking the role of demining personnel in ongoing stabilization and recovery efforts while also reflecting the contribution of supporting technologies.
The initiative draws attention to the scale of contamination following Russia’s full-scale invasion. According to Ukrainian authorities, approximately 252,400 square kilometers of territory remain affected when assessed at the community level, positioning Ukraine among the most mine-affected countries globally.
Officials indicate that clearance operations remain a prerequisite for restoring civilian infrastructure, agricultural production, and economic activity in liberated and frontline-adjacent regions. Demining teams continue to operate in high-risk conditions, combining manual procedures with specialized equipment.
Modern systems are playing an increasing role in improving both efficiency and operator safety. Croatian manufacturer DOK-ING, which has expanded production through localization in Ukraine, has supplied remote-controlled demining platforms used in clearance operations. According to available data, these systems have contributed to the clearance of more than 30 million square meters of land while reducing direct exposure of personnel to explosive hazards.
The stamp project was implemented with support from multiple institutional and industrial stakeholders, including DOK-ING, the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, Ukrposhta, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and the State Special Transport Service.
The initiative reflects a broader effort to maintain public awareness of demining requirements and to highlight the operational and industrial ecosystem supporting these activities.
