Ukrainian Armor Completes Technology Transfer with CSG for NATO-Caliber Artillery Ammunition Production
Ukrainian Armor has finalized the technology transfer phase with Czechoslovak Group, enabling domestic serial production of NATO-caliber artillery ammunition. The company reports that production facilities in Ukraine are now prepared for manufacturing multiple 155 mm variants.
Ukrainian Armor has completed the technology transfer process conducted in cooperation with Czechoslovak Group (CSG), establishing the technical and industrial foundation for manufacturing NATO-standard artillery ammunition in Ukraine.
According to company leadership, the engineering preparation phase has been finalized, and production sites are now equipped to begin serial output. The transfer included technical documentation, production processes, and the integration of required manufacturing solutions, providing Ukraine with the operational capacity to sustain domestic output of key artillery calibers.
In 2025, Ukrainian Armor initiated serial production of the 155 mm M107 artillery projectile and finalized its codification. The company is also advancing work on the 155 mm L15 round, which features a more powerful propellant charge. In parallel, long-range variants are undergoing testing, including a 155 mm Boat Tail projectile with a reported range of 30 to 40 kilometers and a 155 mm Base Bleed round designed for ranges between 40 and 43 kilometers.
The cooperation with CSG includes arrangements aimed at ensuring access to propellant charges, widely regarded as a critical constraint in global artillery ammunition production. The availability of these components is intended to mitigate supply bottlenecks that have affected other manufacturers.
Company representatives indicated that production lines currently retain available capacity for additional orders. Ukrainian Armor is prepared to scale deliveries of NATO-caliber ammunition once procurement requirements are defined by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The development strengthens Ukraine’s effort to localize ammunition production during wartime and reduces reliance on external supply chains for critical artillery capabilities. Beyond drones and other priority systems, artillery ammunition remains a central requirement for sustained operations.
