Vienna to Host DroneVation & Defence 2026 Focused on Military UAV and Counter-UAS Technologies

DroneVation & Defence 2026 will take place in Vienna on May 21, bringing together defense industry representatives, military officials, and researchers to discuss developments in unmanned aerial systems and counter-UAS technologies.

The one-day symposium will focus on technological developments across air, land, and maritime domains, with presentations, panel discussions, and an industry exhibition highlighting emerging capabilities in the drone and counter-drone sector. According to the organizers, the event aims to provide a platform for dialogue between operational users and technology developers involved in the rapidly evolving unmanned systems ecosystem.

The conference is organized by the Austrian defense and security publication Militär Aktuell, which launched the DroneVation & Defence concept as a specialized forum for UAV innovation and drone defense technologies. The initiative seeks to connect stakeholders from the military, government agencies, industry, and research institutions. 

The event will take place at Wiener Werkshallen in Vienna and is expected to host a growing number of international exhibitors and speakers. The program will feature expert briefings and discussions covering operational challenges, counter-UAS solutions, and the integration of new technologies into defense planning.

Industry participation is expected to include established defense manufacturers and emerging technology firms active in the unmanned systems sector. Companies involved in sensors, electronic warfare, detection technologies, and drone platforms are expected to showcase their solutions during the exhibition component of the symposium.
