Meprolight has announced a new defence contract to supply a Southern European nation’s armed forces with its MVO 1–8×28 low-power variable riflescopes, expanding the company’s footprint in the European military optics market. The deal underscores growing international demand for Meprolight’s battle-tested sighting systems and highlights the company’s reputation for durability and precision in harsh operational environments.

Designed for short-to-mid-range engagements, the MVO 1–8×28 is built to MIL-SPEC standards and engineered to deliver clarity, stability and rugged field performance. The optic features a 34 mm tube, red and green illuminated reticles with eight brightness settings, night-vision compatibility, and a 12-hour automatic shutoff. Its smooth magnification ring — with an optional throw lever — and verified windage/elevation tracking support both rapid engagement and precise marksmanship.

According to Meprolight, the series’ German SCHOTT multi-coated glass provides more than 92% light transmission, ensuring high contrast and visibility in low light, glare or mirage conditions. A generous eye box, consistent eye relief and wide field of view enhance situational awareness, a critical requirement for modern infantry operations.

The receiving armed forces will integrate the optics across units to improve accuracy and readiness in diverse mission profiles, from close-quarters manoeuvres to open-terrain engagements. The robust construction of the MVO 1–8×28 allows troops to maintain operational effectiveness under extreme stress, adverse weather and demanding terrain.

“Modern armed forces require optics that stay reliable when everything else is working against them,” said Meprolight Senior Vice President Golan Kalimi. “The MVO series continues to prove itself in those environments. We’re proud to support this Southern European partner with a solution that enables soldiers to operate with confidence and precision.”

The contract reinforces Meprolight’s position as a leading supplier of advanced day-optic technology to military and security customers worldwide.
