Advanced Protection Systems Opens 13 Roles in Gdynia
Polish counter-drone maker Advanced Protection Systems is hiring across engineering and software roles in Gdynia, expanding its SKYctrl and FIELDctrl radar teams as C-UAS demand grows on NATO's eastern flank.
Advanced Protection Systems S.A. (APS), the Polish counter-drone company behind the SKYctrl detection and neutralization system, is hiring across 13 positions at its Gdynia headquarters, according to listings on the company's careers portal. The roles span software development, product engineering, and manufacturing, reflecting a broader push to scale APS's radar and command-and-control product lines.
The largest cluster of openings is in software: APS is looking for a Java developer, an ML engineer, three C++ developers (embedded systems, data processing, and Qt-based interfaces), a software architect, a software project manager for R&D, and a software tester covering C++ and Java. On the hardware and production side, the company is hiring a process engineer, a product and New Product Introduction (NPI) engineer, a configuration management engineer, a senior mechanical designer for vehicle-mounted systems, and an assembly technician. Most positions are hybrid or on-site in Gdynia, with the assembly technician role based in nearby Gdansk.
APS has built its business around the SKYctrl system, which integrates the company's proprietary FIELDctrl 3D MIMO radar family with electro-optical and infrared sensors to detect, classify, and neutralize unmanned aerial threats. The system has been deployed to protect airports, ports, power plants, and government sites, and the company has said its technology is in use supporting Ukrainian forces against drone threats along the front. APS is also a subcontractor on Poland's SAN (Systemy Antydronowe) counter-drone program, supplying command-and-control software and sensor integration to the Polish Armed Forces.
The heavy weighting toward software and C++ engineering roles points to continued investment in APS's Cyview command-and-control platform and radar signal processing stack, an area where the company has positioned itself as an ITAR-free, fully in-house alternative to foreign C-UAS suppliers. As European militaries and critical infrastructure operators accelerate counter-drone procurement, APS's hiring push signals it is building capacity to meet rising order volumes rather than simply backfilling attrition.
