Arcos Raises €5.5M to Protect European Critical Infrastructure
Munich-based Arcos has raised €5.5 million to expand its Trident security platform and enter Europe’s critical infrastructure protection market.
Munich-based security technology company Arcos has raised €5.5 million in seed financing to expand its Trident platform and enter the critical infrastructure protection market in Germany before expanding into other European countries. High-Tech Gründerfonds led the round, with Bayern Kapital, Pact, Haufe, Robin Capital and strategic business angels also participating.
The financing was announced on September 18, 2026, as Arcos emerged from stealth roughly one year after its founders began building the company. Arcos plans to use the capital to expand its team in Germany, develop its product portfolio and initially focus on critical infrastructure applications.
Arcos combines security sensors and response through Trident
Arcos was founded by Moritz Steigerwald and Louis Wübben and is headquartered in Munich. Rather than positioning itself solely as a software vendor, the company says it develops and operates an integrated civil security infrastructure covering signal processing and the operational handling of security incidents.
At the center of that approach is Trident, Arcos proprietary hazard management platform. According to the company, Trident brings signals from connected security sources into a common model so operators can assess events, make decisions and send instructions back to field systems from a single operational environment.
The system is designed to process inputs including alarms, video and emergency signals. Arcos lists public-sector and critical infrastructure sites, commercial properties and residential applications among the sectors addressed by its technology.
Importantly, Arcos claims that human operators retain responsibility for escalations where judgment is required. This makes the platform more accurately described as an integrated security management and response system than as a fully autonomous protection system.
Trident receives VdS 3534 certification
Arcos has already completed a significant certification step for the German security market. VdS Schadenverhütung lists Trident GMS Version 1.0 as tested and recognized under the VdS 3534:2023-03 standard for hazard management systems.
The certificate, number I126102, is registered to Arcos Technologies GmbH in Munich and was current as of September 7, 2026. This independently confirms the certification claim highlighted by Arcos in its public launch materials.
Arcos also says its infrastructure operates in Europe and that customer-identifying data is not used for model training. The company states that its security operations are staffed continuously.
Germany is tightening critical infrastructure requirements
The funding comes as Germany implements a broader regulatory framework for the physical resilience of critical infrastructure.
Germany's KRITIS-Dachgesetz entered into force on March 17, 2026. The law establishes a national framework for strengthening the physical resilience of critical facilities, including requirements related to risk analysis, resilience measures and reporting of significant incidents.
The German government said in September that the framework covers sectors including energy, transport, health and drinking water. Authorities are also examining measures addressing hybrid threats, including the detection and potential countering of drones around critical infrastructure.
That regulatory shift creates a relevant market environment for companies integrating physical sensors, video surveillance, alarms and incident management. Arcos enters this market as European governments and infrastructure operators place greater emphasis on resilience against sabotage, intrusion and other physical threats.
Arcos targets expansion beyond Germany
Following the €5.5 million financing round, Arcos plans to increase its workforce in Germany, extend the platform and expand its presence in the critical infrastructure sector. The company then intends to enter additional European markets.
The investor group combines public-backed and private capital. High-Tech Gründerfonds includes Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and KfW Capital among its investors, while the Arcos round also includes Bayern Kapital, Pact, Haufe and Robin Capital.
The company will make its first major public industry appearance at Security Essen from September 22 to 25, 2026. The event lists Arcos Technologies GmbH at Hall 8, Stand 8C20, alongside exhibitors covering physical security, video surveillance, digital networking, drone technology and civil protection.
Security Essen expects around 500 exhibitors from 40 countries this year. Its 2026 program places particular emphasis on critical infrastructure resilience, physical security, artificial intelligence and drone-related threats.
