Orqa Expands Manufacturing Capacity and Broadens European FPV Training Activities
Croatian drone manufacturer Orqa expects to reach an annual manufacturing capacity of 500,000 drones and components by the end of the year while expanding its FPV training activities across several European armed forces.
Croatia-based drone technology company Orqa plans to increase production capacity at its Orqa FPV headquarters to 500,000 drones and components annually by the end of the year, according to CEO and Co-founder Srđan Kovačević.
The planned expansion marks a significant increase in the company's manufacturing capability as European demand for domestically produced unmanned systems continues to grow. According to the company, the investment also supports its strategy of establishing a resilient supply chain that avoids the use of critical components sourced from China.
Orqa also noted that it is among the 16 founding members of the EU-Ukraine Drone Alliance, an initiative intended to strengthen cooperation between European industry and Ukraine in the development and production of drone technologies.
Beyond manufacturing, the company said it is expanding its focus on training military personnel to operate first person view, or FPV, drone systems. According to Kovačević, this reflects a broader shift from supplying hardware alone toward delivering operational capability for armed forces.
The company stated that its instructors have conducted training for special operations units, while programs are increasingly expanding to conventional military formations. In Germany, Orqa said it is currently providing FPV training to both special forces and early adopter units within the regular army.
According to the company, it is currently working with or holding discussions involving defense organizations in Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Poland, Sweden, and France, with additional European countries expected to follow.
Orqa indicated that it views the growing emphasis on training as an important element in building sovereign European defense capabilities alongside increased industrial production of unmanned systems.
