RE-liON to Demonstrate Portable VR Training Kit at Bundeswehr XR Event
The Dutch company will show its Operator Kit in Idar-Oberstein on September 30, with a focus on bringing virtual reality training to military units outside dedicated facilities.
Dutch defense technology company RE-liON plans to demonstrate its portable Operator Kit at “Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality und Mixed Reality in der Bundeswehr” in Idar-Oberstein, Germany, on September 30.
Company representatives Jonas Schaerk and Michael Obermaier will be available to show attendees the system.
RE-liON says the kit can be set up within minutes, allowing units to repeat training exercises without waiting for access to a dedicated simulation facility.
Its compact configuration is designed for individuals and small teams and requires minimal infrastructure. Obermaier has identified counter-drone drills, close-quarters training, mission planning and drone-flight simulation among the system’s potential applications.
The company has experience supplying virtual reality training to the Dutch military. According to RE-liON, a mobile urban-operations training solution it developed with the Dutch Army has been in use since 2017.
The Idar-Oberstein announcement concerns a demonstration; it does not report a Bundeswehr purchase of the Operator Kit.
