Serbia’s Trayal Plans Rocket Propellant Production Facility in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Serbian industrial group Trajal plans to establish a rocket propellant production facility in Rudo, Republika Srpska. The project would expand the company’s defense-related manufacturing footprint beyond Serbia.
Trayal, a Serbian manufacturer based in Kruševac, is preparing to launch a production facility for rocket propellant in the municipality of Rudo in Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, according to information released by the local administration.
Municipal authorities stated that company representatives met with local residents on May 19 to present employment conditions and outline plans for opening a branch operation in the municipality. The meeting followed earlier public invitations issued by the municipality regarding the planned industrial project and potential hiring opportunities.
According to local officials, future employees will undergo medical screening before participating in paid training programs in Kruševac or Belgrade. Company representatives reportedly informed attendees that work at the facility would require strict safety procedures due to the handling of flammable and sensitive materials.
The planned production site is expected to be located within former Yugoslav People’s Army barracks in Rudo. Local reports indicated that Trayal has already cooperated with the municipality for several years and currently employs a small workforce at part of the former military complex.
The project represents a further expansion of Serbia’s defense-industrial activities in the Western Balkans, particularly in the field of specialized chemical and energetic materials. For Bosnia and Herzegovina, the investment could increase industrial activity in one of the country’s smaller municipalities while supporting local employment.
Trayal Corporation, headquartered in Kruševac, manufactures products for the rubber, chemical, and defense sectors. Serbian state audit documents identify the company as a producer of rubber and chemical products with activities linked to the defense industry.
