Albania’s Ministry of Defense has extended the application deadline for a military weapons depot reconstruction contract in the Elbasan region, offering construction contractors additional time to seek prequalification.

The procurement has an estimated ceiling of ALL 40.9 million (approximately €452,000), excluding VAT, and covers the reconstruction of an above-ground weapons storage facility. The project will be financed through Albania’s 2026 state budget, with funding allocated to the Armed Forces’ Support Command.

According to the ministry’s amended procurement notice, the deadline for submitting participation requests has been extended from October 16 to October 26, 2026, at 11:00 local time. The original tender was published on September 8, while the amendment also removed a prequalification declaration requirement relating to contractors’ existing projects.

The procurement follows a restricted two-stage procedure. Companies must first demonstrate the required construction experience, financial capacity, professional licenses, and technical qualifications. Foreign contractors may participate subject to the applicable licensing and verification requirements.

Qualified applicants will subsequently be invited to submit financial bids, with the contract awarded on the lowest-price criterion. The selected contractor will have 12 weeks from the commencement of work to complete the reconstruction.

Interested companies must submit their participation documentation to the Ministry of Defense on Dibra Street in Tirana. The procurement is identified under Order No. 1607, dated August 6, 2026.
