Czech defense and industrial group Czechoslovak Group (CSG) has appointed David Jacobs as President of CSG Defense North America as the company strengthens its position in the United States defense sector. Jacobs will lead a newly established Washington, D.C. office and serve as the company's senior representative in the U.S. market.

According to CSG, the new office is intended to deepen engagement with U.S. government stakeholders, defense industry partners, and investors while supporting the group's long term expansion plans across North America. Jacobs will report directly to Michal Strnad and coordinate closely with CSG's defense businesses in Europe and its American subsidiaries, including MSM North America and CSE USA.

In his new role, Jacobs will oversee the strategic direction of CSG's defense activities in North America, manage merger and acquisition initiatives, and develop relationships across the U.S. defense and investment communities. The appointment comes as the group continues to expand its industrial footprint in the United States.

One of the company's most significant recent U.S. programs involves MSM Group North America, which secured a U.S. Army contract to design, construct, and commission a new 155 mm artillery load, assembly, and pack facility at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. CSG described the project as one of its largest organic industrial base modernization efforts in the country.

Jacobs brings more than 15 years of experience in the defense sector. Prior to joining CSG, he held senior strategy and M&A roles at Northrop Grumman and RTX (Raytheon). Most recently, he served as Vice President for Corporate Strategy and M&A at Northrop Grumman, where he advised company leadership on portfolio development and enterprise strategy. Earlier in his career, he worked in investment banking with Merrill Lynch in London and Chicago.

CSG stated that Jacobs will support the company's growth through acquisitions, industrial partnerships, technology transfer initiatives, and investments aimed at expanding U.S. manufacturing capacity and strengthening the domestic defense industrial base.
