Dutch Cybersecurity Startup Indurex Raises €7M to Protect Critical Infrastructure
A €7 million investment will support the expansion of Indurex's AI-powered cybersecurity platform, designed to protect critical infrastructure and industrial systems across Europe and beyond.
Amsterdam-based cybersecurity company Indurex has secured €7 million in pre-seed funding to expand its artificial intelligence platform for protecting critical infrastructure and industrial operations. The investment round was led by Contrarian Ventures, with participation from Axeleo Capital and Dutch venture capital firm Curiosity.
Announced on October 22, the funding will support research and development and commercial expansion across Europe and the Middle East, with the United States and Asia-Pacific identified as future markets. The company develops cybersecurity technology for cyber-physical systems used in energy, utilities, manufacturing, oil and gas, and data centers.
AI Platform Targets Industrial Cyber Threats
Indurex's SafeGuard AI platform combines operational technology (OT), engineering, process safety, and cybersecurity data to help industrial operators identify potential threats and system abnormalities.
The technology collects information from industrial control systems, safety instrumentation, process historians, alarm management platforms, and IT security tools. AI agents analyze the combined data to identify anomalies, engineering configuration changes, and deviations that require human attention.
Unlike conventional cybersecurity products focused primarily on network activity, Indurex aims to identify risks affecting the physical operations of industrial facilities, including equipment failures, unauthorized configuration changes, and compromised safety functions.
The company says its platform also supports compliance with industrial security and safety frameworks, including IEC 62443, IEC 61511, and the European Union's NIS2 cybersecurity requirements.
Expansion Into European Critical Infrastructure Markets
Indurex was founded by Jalal Bouhdada, who serves as CEO, and Maarten Oosterink, the company's COO. Bouhdada previously founded industrial cybersecurity firm Applied Risk, which was acquired by DNV in 2021.
The company reports that its existing customers include energy and manufacturing operators ranging from medium-sized businesses to multinational enterprises. Utilities and data center operators are also among its target markets.
Rokas Peciulaitis, Founder and Managing Partner at Contrarian Ventures, said the investment reflects growing demand for cybersecurity systems capable of connecting digital threats with their consequences for physical infrastructure.
Indurex's expansion comes as European critical infrastructure operators face increasing requirements to strengthen cybersecurity resilience, particularly across energy, industrial production, and essential services. The company was also recognized as a Gartner Cool Vendor earlier in 2026.
