EURENCO and MESKO S.A. have signed a shareholders’ agreement formalizing plans to establish a Franco-Polish joint venture for the production of artillery ammunition components in Poland.

The agreement was signed during the Eurosatory defense exhibition in the presence of senior French, Polish, and European defense officials, marking a significant step in expanding European ammunition production capacity.

Under the project, manufacturing of 155 mm artillery propellants and bimodular charge systems (BMCS) will be established at MESKO’s facility in Pionki. The initiative is intended to strengthen Poland’s domestic ammunition supply chain while supporting broader European efforts to increase production of critical artillery components.

The partners stated that the venture will include the transfer of technology and industrial know-how from EURENCO to MESKO. The move is expected to provide Poland with local production capabilities for key ammunition elements and reduce dependence on external suppliers.

The project remains subject to approval by competition authorities. Following the completion of regulatory procedures, the joint venture is expected to begin operations in the summer of 2028.

The agreement comes as European governments continue investing in ammunition production capacity to replenish stockpiles and improve supply chain resilience amid growing defense requirements across NATO member states.
