The award further strengthens CSG’s position in the U.S. small-caliber ammunition market following its acquisition of Kinetic Group in 2024.

The FBI’s rifle ammunition program covers four key categories: Service, Reduced-Lead Training, Frangible, and Suppressor-Safe Frangible ammunition. The procurement follows the Bureau’s 2025 market research process for 5.56 NATO/.223 Remington ammunition intended for operational and training use across FBI carbines.

According to CSG, Federal and Remington were selected in all four categories, highlighting the performance and reliability of the companies’ rifle ammunition portfolio. The award comes as law enforcement agencies increasingly seek ammunition optimized for suppressor-equipped weapons and environmentally conscious training requirements.

The contract represents another major milestone for CSG’s growing U.S. defense business. Since acquiring Kinetic Group—which includes Federal, Remington, Speer, CCI, and Hevi-Shot—the Czech group has significantly expanded its presence in the North American ammunition sector, making it one of the world's largest producers of small-caliber ammunition.

For the FBI, the contract ensures access to a broad range of rifle ammunition solutions supporting operational deployments, training activities, and specialized missions, while reinforcing long-term relationships with established U.S. ammunition manufacturers.
