KNDS Unveils Containerized Drone Launch System Concept at Eurosatory 2026
KNDS has presented a prototype containerized drone launch system at Eurosatory 2026 as part of a broader mission solution architecture for land forces.
PARIS – KNDS used Eurosatory 2026 to introduce a new containerized drone launch concept aimed at integrating unmanned systems into modern land operations. The prototype forms part of the company's wider mission solution portfolio, which combines manned platforms, drones, loitering munitions, counter-UAS capabilities, command systems, and digital battlefield services within a single operational framework.
At the center of the demonstration is a universal 20-foot launch container designed to deploy different types of unmanned aerial systems from forward or dispersed locations. According to KNDS, the modular design allows operators to integrate various drone payloads and adapt the system to evolving mission requirements.
The prototype showcased at the Paris exhibition integrates two European drone systems. These include the METIS autonomous interceptor developed by TYTAN Technologies and the HX-2 loitering munition produced by Helsing. KNDS stated that the architecture is intended to support both sensing and strike missions while simplifying the deployment and logistics of unmanned assets in the field.
The unveiling reflects a broader trend across the European defense sector toward containerized and rapidly deployable drone solutions. Such systems are increasingly viewed as a means of extending operational reach while reducing the infrastructure requirements associated with conventional launch and support facilities.
KNDS said the project was developed in cooperation with TYTAN Technologies and Helsing, highlighting efforts to accelerate the integration of emerging defense technologies into operational military systems. The company indicated that expanding partnerships with technology firms is becoming an important part of its approach to delivering new capabilities for European armed forces.
The launch container was displayed alongside other KNDS developments at Eurosatory 2026, where the company has placed significant emphasis on counter-drone technologies, digitalized battlefield networks, and integrated system-of-systems solutions.
