NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe Holds Defense Talks During Visit to Slovenia

NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Alexus G. Grynkewich visited Slovenia on July 14 for meetings with senior political and military leaders. Discussions focused on Alliance priorities following the recent NATO Summit and Slovenia's ongoing contributions to collective defense.

NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) General Alexus G. Grynkewich visited Slovenia on July 14 for a series of meetings with the country's political and military leadership, highlighting Ljubljana's role within the Alliance following the recent NATO Summit. 

The visit included talks at the Slovenian Armed Forces General Staff, where General Grynkewich met Chief of the General Staff Major General Boštjan Močnik. According to the Slovenian Ministry of Defence, discussions focused on key outcomes from the NATO Summit and current Alliance priorities. 

General Grynkewich also met Defense Minister Valentin Hajdinjak, President and Commander in Chief Nataša Pirc Musar, members of the National Assembly's Defense Committee, and representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Ljubljana. 

The Slovenian Ministry of Defence said the meetings addressed NATO's collective defense agenda and Slovenia's continued participation in Alliance activities. The ministry added that the SACEUR acknowledged Slovenia's contributions to NATO and reaffirmed the Alliance's support for the country's efforts to meet its defense commitments. 

The visit follows the NATO Summit held in Ankara, where Allied leaders agreed on measures aimed at strengthening collective deterrence and defense amid an evolving European security environment.
