Romanian IT Integrator Metaminds Expands Into Defense and National Security Sector
Romanian technology company Metaminds is expanding its business into the defense and national security sector as part of its next phase of growth. The move follows a strong financial performance in 2025 and reflects increasing demand for secure digital infrastructure.
Romanian IT integrator Metaminds has announced plans to expand into the defense and national security market, adding the sector to its long term growth strategy as governments increase investment in digital resilience and critical infrastructure.
The Bucharest based company said the expansion will build on its experience delivering complex digital infrastructure projects for the public sector. According to the company, future efforts will focus on applying expertise in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud technologies, and secure digital platforms to defense and security applications.
Metaminds reported revenue of RON 497.5 million ($116 million) for 2025 and a net profit of RON 20.34 million, supported by the delivery of Romania's Government Private Cloud internal cloud component and continued demand for digital transformation projects.
As part of its strategy, the company plans to integrate AI across its core capabilities, including cloud native infrastructure, platform engineering, and cyber defense. It stated that these technologies are intended to improve operational efficiency, automate incident response, and strengthen security monitoring in environments with high security requirements.
The expansion comes as Romania continues to prioritize modernization of its defense capabilities and development of a stronger domestic defense industrial base. While traditionally focused on civilian and government digital infrastructure, technology firms are increasingly seeking opportunities in defense as cybersecurity, AI, and digital command systems become more closely integrated with military capabilities.
Metaminds has also increased its presence in Romania's defense ecosystem, participating in this year's Black Sea Defense, Aerospace and Security Exhibition (BSDA), where it presented digital and multi domain technology solutions alongside international partners.
