WB Electronics, CAE Partner on Unmanned Systems Training
WB Electronics and CAE signed an MSPO 2026 agreement to develop training and mission-readiness solutions for unmanned and autonomous systems.
Poland’s WB Electronics and Canada’s CAE signed a Memorandum of Understanding at MSPO 2026 in Kielce on September 8 to pursue joint training and mission-readiness solutions for unmanned and autonomous military systems. The companies plan to combine WB Electronics’ unmanned platforms and mission systems with CAE’s simulation, synthetic training and mission-rehearsal capabilities for potential customers in Poland, Canada and other allied countries.
The agreement does not represent a procurement contract or specify a contract value. Instead, it establishes a framework for the companies to identify joint opportunities as NATO militaries expand their use of unmanned systems and face a parallel requirement to train operators and integrate those platforms into wider military operations.

Under the agreement, the companies will explore solutions covering training and operational readiness for unmanned and autonomous systems.
WB Electronics brings experience in unmanned platforms and mission systems, while CAE specializes in simulation and training technologies. The companies identified synthetic training environments and mission rehearsal among the areas relevant to the cooperation.
The objective extends beyond teaching personnel how to operate individual unmanned aircraft.
As unmanned systems become integrated into multi-domain military operations, armed forces need training environments that can reproduce interactions between operators, sensors, command systems and other battlefield assets without relying exclusively on live exercises.
The companies identified Poland, Canada and allied nations as potential markets for their cooperation.
Poland and Canada back the industrial partnership
The signing brought senior Polish and Canadian government representatives together at MSPO.
Participants included Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, Secretary of State at Poland’s Ministry of National Defence; Canadian Minister of International Trade Maninder Sidhu; and Canadian Minister of National Defence David J. McGuinty.
WB GROUP President Piotr Wojciechowski represented the Polish company, while Thibaut Trancart, Vice-President and General Manager for CAE Defense & Security International, represented CAE.
The government presence places the agreement within a broader Polish-Canadian defense-industrial relationship rather than a standalone corporate memorandum.
CAE and WB Electronics said they intend to explore opportunities supporting both countries as well as allied defense customers.
WB Electronics brings an established unmanned portfolio
WB Electronics leads WB GROUP, Poland’s largest private defense industry group.
Its portfolio includes the FLYEYE unmanned aerial system, WARMATE loitering munition, TOPAZ Integrated Combat Management System and FONET digital communications platform.
The Polish Armed Forces already operate FLYEYE systems. A 2023 framework agreement provides for deliveries of more than 1,600 FLYEYE unmanned aircraft, with subsequent executive agreements governing individual batches.
That installed base gives the CAE partnership a potentially significant training dimension.
The requirement surrounding unmanned systems increasingly extends beyond procurement of air vehicles themselves. Larger fleets create continuing requirements for operator instruction, mission preparation, simulation, maintenance training and integration with command-and-control architectures.
CAE brings an established defense simulation business to that part of the equation.
The Canadian company develops training systems spanning aviation, land, maritime and multi-domain operations. Combining that capability with WB Electronics’ operational unmanned ecosystem could allow the companies to pursue programs where customers want both the platform and a more comprehensive training environment.
Partnership could support WB Electronics’ international expansion
The agreement also reflects WB GROUP’s continued push beyond Poland.
WB Electronics technologies are exported to dozens of countries, while the group has increasingly used partnerships with international defense companies to expand integration and market access.
In June 2026, WB GROUP and Saab announced an expansion of their cooperation focused on capabilities for NATO’s eastern flank. The group has also continued securing major Polish requirements for FLYEYE, WARMATE and GLADIUS unmanned systems.
The CAE agreement addresses a different part of the unmanned systems market.
Rather than adding another air vehicle or effector, it focuses on the training infrastructure required to use increasingly large and complex unmanned fleets.
That distinction could become more important as European militaries move from acquiring limited numbers of unmanned systems toward operating them at scale. Training capacity will need to grow alongside inventories if armed forces intend to maintain sufficient numbers of qualified operators and integrate unmanned systems into larger formations.
For WB Electronics, cooperation with CAE could provide access to established simulation technologies and additional international customers.
For CAE, the agreement creates a partnership with a Polish company that already supplies unmanned systems and military electronics to one of NATO’s fastest-expanding defense markets.
The next test will be whether the MSPO memorandum produces specific training programs, demonstrations or procurement opportunities in Poland, Canada or another allied market.
