CSG Brings Tatra Force to AUSA, Eyes U.S. Army Truck Market
CSG will showcase Tatra Force 8x8 vehicles at AUSA 2026 as the Czech group explores opportunities around the U.S. Army heavy tactical truck market.
Czech industrial group CSG will bring two Tatra Force 8x8 military vehicles to AUSA 2026 in Washington, D.C., as the company expands its presence in the U.S. defense market and explores potential opportunities around the U.S. Army’s future heavy tactical truck fleet.
The appearance will mark CSG’s first group-level participation at the Association of the United States Army Annual Meeting & Exposition, scheduled for October 12 to 14.
Tatra Force vehicles will form the centerpiece of the CSG display. The group said the platform could represent one of the options for the U.S. Army’s Common Tactical Truck program, although CSG has not announced a formal bid or selection into the program.
One vehicle shown in Washington will be a Tatra Force 8x8 heavy military tractor designed to transport main battle tanks, armored vehicles and other heavy equipment on semi-trailers. The configuration supports a gross combination weight of up to 110 tonnes and a payload of up to 70 tonnes.
It uses a 14.9-liter Cummins X15 engine producing up to 447 kW, paired with a seven-speed Allison automatic transmission.
CSG will also display a Tatra Force 8x8 equipped with a hooklift system for containers and interchangeable flatracks weighing up to 16.5 tonnes. The vehicle has a gross weight of up to 40 tonnes and can be configured with Tatra or Cummins engines.
The U.S. Army has been reassessing its Common Tactical Truck acquisition strategy after an earlier competitive prototype phase involving Navistar Defense, Mack Defense, Oshkosh Defense and a team formed by American Rheinmetall and GM Defense.
In 2026, the Army issued a new Commercial Solutions Opening framework for Common Tactical Truck technologies. The framework can support projects ranging from demonstrations and prototypes to eventual production and remains open through April 2032.
CSG’s decision to position Tatra at AUSA therefore comes as the Army continues evaluating how future heavy tactical vehicle requirements will be met.
The Czech group has also built a larger industrial presence in the United States.
Its MSM North America subsidiary recently secured a $635 million U.S. Army contract to design, build and commission the Future Artillery Complex at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. CSG also owns The Kinetic Group, whose brands include Federal, Remington, CCI and Speer.
At AUSA, CSG will be represented by Tatra Trucks, Tatra Defence, MSM Group, AviaNera Technologies, The Kinetic Group, CSG Land Systems North America and MSM North America.
The Washington exhibition gives CSG an opportunity to position its Central European land systems portfolio directly in front of U.S. Army acquisition officials while the service continues shaping its next generation of heavy tactical logistics vehicles.
