CSG Expands Czech UAS Engine Hub With New AviaNera Technology Center
CSG is establishing a new Czech technology center for AviaNera Technologies to industrialize advanced propulsion systems for unmanned aerial systems, supporting up to 100 specialists and expanding the group's global UAS manufacturing network.
CSG is expanding its unmanned aerial systems business by establishing a new technology center in the Czech Republic for its subsidiary AviaNera Technologies. The facility will focus on developing industrial capabilities for advanced propulsion systems, forming a key part of the company's strategy to build a global manufacturing network for drone engines.
Located in the Central Bohemian Region, the center will initially concentrate on validating manufacturing technologies, building production processes, and preparing specialist teams. CSG has not yet disclosed the exact location, stating that additional details will be announced during a later phase of the project.
Czech production capability complements Serbian research
The project represents the next stage in AviaNera's rapid expansion after CSG launched the company earlier this year to consolidate its unmanned systems activities. That strategy accelerated with the acquisition of a 51 percent stake in Serbian propulsion specialist MUST Solutions, whose engineering teams now serve as the group's primary research and development center for advanced UAS propulsion technologies.
Under the new structure, research and engine development remain centered in Belgrade, while the Czech Republic will increasingly serve as the industrialization and manufacturing hub. According to CSG, the new technology center will validate production methods, establish quality standards, and prepare scalable manufacturing processes before larger serial production begins.
Up to 100 specialists planned
Once fully operational, the Czech facility is expected to employ up to 100 specialists, including technologists, process engineers, and manufacturing experts. The company stated that production will emphasize digitalization, automation, and advanced quality management rather than traditional low-volume aerospace manufacturing.
CSG describes the site as a reference manufacturing concept that can later be replicated in additional countries. The approach aligns with the group's broader objective of combining centralized technology development with localized production in key defense markets.
Building a global propulsion network
The Czech investment forms part of a wider international strategy extending beyond Europe. Alongside research activities in Serbia, AviaNera has announced plans to expand manufacturing capabilities in India, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States, where CSG recently unveiled plans for a propulsion production facility in Wisconsin.
Rather than becoming a conventional drone manufacturer, AviaNera is positioning itself as a supplier of one of the most critical subsystems in modern unmanned platforms: propulsion. The company is developing turbojet, turbofan, and related propulsion technologies intended for unmanned aerial systems and other advanced defense applications.
For CSG, the investment also reflects a broader shift beyond its traditional portfolio of armored vehicles, ammunition, and defense systems toward higher-value aerospace technologies. Recent acquisitions and manufacturing investments indicate the group is pursuing greater vertical integration across the unmanned systems supply chain.
