Dutch Startup Intelic Launches Procurement Platform for European Military Drones
Netherlands based startup Intelic has introduced a digital procurement platform designed for European military drone acquisitions. The initiative aims to connect armed forces with verified European unmanned systems manufacturers amid rising demand for tactical UAV capabilities.
Dutch defense technology company Intelic has launched a digital marketplace focused on unmanned aerial systems procurement for European military and government users.
The platform is intended to streamline access to European drone manufacturers and related technology providers, allowing defense customers to identify and compare available systems more efficiently. According to the company, suppliers listed on the platform undergo verification procedures before being approved.
The initiative comes as European armed forces accelerate procurement of reconnaissance drones, loitering munitions, and tactical UAV systems following operational lessons from the war in Ukraine. Demand has also increased for systems resistant to electronic warfare and capable of rapid deployment in frontline environments.
Intelic stated that the platform prioritizes European suppliers in support of regional industrial capacity and reduced dependence on external manufacturers. The company also aims to improve access for smaller defense technology firms that often face barriers within traditional procurement frameworks.
European governments and NATO members have increasingly focused on shortening acquisition timelines for low cost and attritable systems, particularly in the drone and autonomous systems sectors. Several countries are simultaneously expanding domestic production capacity and cross border industrial cooperation programs.
The Netherlands has emerged as an active center for defense innovation and dual use technology development, particularly in autonomous systems, secure communications, and maritime surveillance technologies.
The launch of the platform reflects wider European efforts to strengthen the regional defense industrial base and improve coordination between military users and emerging technology suppliers.
