The Romanian Navy has taken delivery of HAVELSAN's ADVENT Combat Management System (CMS), making Romania the first NATO member to operate the Turkish-developed naval command and control solution.

The system was delivered as part of the transfer of the CAm.ROMAN corvette to the Romanian Naval Forces. According to HAVELSAN, ADVENT is now operational aboard the vessel, expanding a user base that already includes naval forces in 10 countries across four continents.

Developed jointly by HAVELSAN and the Turkish Navy, ADVENT was designed around a force-oriented operational concept that enables multiple naval platforms to share a common operational picture. Unlike conventional combat management systems focused on individual ships, ADVENT is intended to support coordinated fleet operations by linking surface, subsurface, air, and shore-based assets.

The system provides command and control, threat evaluation, decision support, target tracking, and sensor and weapon management functions. HAVELSAN said these capabilities are intended to improve situational awareness and support faster operational decision-making during maritime missions.

ADVENT features a modular architecture that allows integration across a wide range of naval platforms, including patrol vessels, frigates, corvettes, shore command centers, and unmanned surface systems. The company also stated that the system supports interoperability through standard operational protocols, allowing integration with allied naval forces.

The ADVENT product family has also been expanded to support unmanned maritime operations through the ADVENT ROTA Mission Management System. HAVELSAN is continuing development of the platform, including an artificial intelligence-enabled configuration known as ADVENT AI.

For Romania, the introduction of ADVENT represents another step in the modernization of its naval command and control capabilities while expanding defense industrial cooperation with Türkiye. The deployment also marks HAVELSAN's entry into the NATO naval market, a milestone that could support additional opportunities as allied navies pursue upgrades to maritime combat management systems.
