India, Poland reaffirm plans to expand defense and technology cooperation during New Delhi talks
India and Poland have reaffirmed their intention to deepen bilateral cooperation across defense, technology, trade, and investment following high-level government talks in New Delhi.
India and Poland held high-level consultations in New Delhi on Monday, reaffirming their commitment to expanding cooperation in defense, technology, trade, and other strategic sectors as both countries seek to strengthen their bilateral partnership.
The meeting brought together India's Secretary (West) Sibi George with Polish Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Wladyslaw T. Bartoszewski and Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology Michal Baranowski. According to India's Ministry of External Affairs, the discussions covered political engagement, trade and investment, defense, technology, culture, and cooperation against global terrorism.
For the defense sector, the talks reinforce continued political support for closer cooperation between the two countries, although no new procurement programs or industrial agreements were announced. The meeting nevertheless reflects sustained momentum in India-Poland relations as both governments explore opportunities to broaden collaboration in security and advanced technologies.
The latest discussions build on a series of bilateral engagements over recent months. During meetings in Warsaw earlier this year, officials examined prospects for greater cooperation in sectors including electric vehicles, mining, shipping, and defense technology, alongside broader economic ties linked to the proposed India-EU Free Trade Agreement.
For Poland, expanding engagement with India aligns with its broader effort to strengthen partnerships with Indo-Pacific countries while increasing defense-industrial cooperation beyond Europe. India, meanwhile, continues to pursue international partnerships that support technology development, industrial collaboration, and diversification of its defense relationships.
