Orqa and Remote Robotic Systems Sign Exclusive Canadian Manufacturing Partnership
Croatian drone technology company Orqa and Canada's Remote Robotic Systems have signed an exclusive agreement to expand production of Orqa systems and components in Canada.
Croatian drone technology developer Orqa d.o.o. and Canadian defense company Remote Robotic Systems (RRS) Inc. have signed an exclusive partnership agreement to establish expanded production of Orqa systems and components in Canada.
The agreement was signed by Orqa Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer Ivan Jelušić and RRS Chief Executive Officer Kevin Toderel. The signing ceremony was attended by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, underscoring the strategic importance of the industrial cooperation between the two countries.
According to the companies, the partnership will enable manufacturing of Orqa products in Canada for both the Canadian market and international export customers. The agreement has an estimated value of CAD 150 million over the next five years.
The initiative strengthens defense industrial cooperation between Canada and Croatia while expanding North American production capacity for Orqa's unmanned systems technologies and related components. It also positions the partnership to support future procurement opportunities in Canada and allied markets.
During the event, Prime Minister Mark Carney highlighted the growing economic relationship between the two countries, noting that bilateral trade has increased by roughly one third over the past year. He pointed to cooperation in sectors including critical minerals, energy, sports merchandise, and drone flight simulator software, reflecting the expanding scope of Canada-Croatia industrial ties.
