THEON Invests in U.S. AI Firm Twin Prime, Plans Greece-Based Joint Venture
THEON International has announced a strategic investment in U.S.-based artificial intelligence company Twin Prime as part of a broader effort to expand AI integration across its electro-optical systems portfolio.
Greek defense technology company THEON International has announced a $3 million investment in U.S.-based artificial intelligence developer Twin Prime, alongside plans to establish a joint venture aimed at integrating AI capabilities into THEON’s product portfolio.
According to the company, the investment will provide THEON with a minority equity stake in Twin Prime, which develops AI models designed for defense and security applications involving multi-sensor data processing. The planned joint venture is expected to be headquartered in Greece, with THEON holding a 60 percent share and Twin Prime 40 percent.
THEON stated that the partnership is intended to accelerate the deployment of AI-enabled capabilities across its electro-optical systems and support ongoing development under the company’s THEON Next technology initiative.
Twin Prime, founded in 2025, focuses on artificial intelligence systems capable of processing and interpreting information from multiple defense-related sensors in real time. The company’s founding team includes specialists with previous experience at organizations including Google Research, Hudson River Trading, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and military organizations in the United States and Europe.
THEON indicated that the cooperation will complement its existing internal AI development activities and strengthen the company’s position in the growing defense AI segment. The investment follows several recent strategic moves by THEON, including stakes in companies operating in imaging, augmented reality, and electro-optical technologies.
The company has expanded its international footprint over the past two years through acquisitions, industrial partnerships, and production investments across Europe and North America. THEON is listed on Euronext Amsterdam and is primarily known for night vision and thermal imaging systems used by military and security customers worldwide.
