Theon Sensors Showcases Soldier Optronics Portfolio at IDEB 2026 in Bratislava
Greek optronics manufacturer Theon Sensors is presenting its latest night vision and thermal imaging systems at IDEB 2026 in Bratislava. The company is targeting growing defense modernization demand across Central Europe and NATO markets.
Theon Sensors S.A., a subsidiary of Theon International Plc, is participating in the IDEB Defence & Security 2026 exhibition in Bratislava, Slovakia, held from 12 to 14 May at the Incheba Bratislava Exhibition and Congress Centre.
The company’s appearance in Bratislava follows earlier participation at the World Defense Show 2026 in Riyadh and FIDAE in Santiago de Chile as part of its expanding international exhibition activity. IDEB, organized under the guarantorship of the Slovak Ministry of Defence, is regarded as one of Central Europe’s main defense and security exhibitions and attracts military delegations, procurement officials, and industry representatives from across the Visegrád region and other NATO markets.
Theon Sensors develops night vision, thermal imaging, and electro optical ISR systems for military and security applications. Its portfolio includes night vision monoculars and binoculars, thermal clip on and standalone sights from the THERMIS family, and electro optical systems for armored vehicle platforms.
According to the company, more than 200,000 systems are currently in service with armed forces and special operations units in 71 countries, including 26 NATO member states.
Central European demand for infantry optronics and soldier ISR systems has increased since 2022 as regional governments accelerated military modernization programs following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic continue to prioritize procurement of night vision devices, thermal weapon sights, and soldier surveillance systems as part of wider NATO interoperability efforts.
Theon arrives at IDEB following continued business growth. In its Q1 2026 trading update, the company reported revenues of €120.1 million, representing year on year growth of 32.3%, while adjusted EBIT margin reached 25%. The company also reported a soft backlog of €1.42 billion following the consolidation of Kappa Optronics GmbH.
In April 2026, Theon Sensors signed a strategic agreement with Rheinmetall Electronics GmbH covering the development, qualification, and serial production of a stabilized multi sensor electro optical system based on the company’s PHYLAX technology. The system is intended for integration into Rheinmetall’s SEOSS 210 P stabilized sight for medium caliber turret solutions.
The company is also continuing development work under the ARMED NEXT initiative, which aims to introduce integrated soldier systems combining sensors, displays, and battlefield data fusion technologies.
Theon’s participation at IDEB reflects continued interest among European defense electronics manufacturers in Central European procurement programs as NATO member states increase defense spending and expand modernization timelines.
Defense procurement officials and industry representatives interested in meeting the Theon Sensors team during IDEB 2026 can arrange appointments through Ileana Scarfi, Business Development Manager.
