Ukraine and Poland Launch Joint Production of Missile and Drone Engines
Ukrainian and Polish defense companies have agreed to cooperate on the development and production of small turbojet engines for cruise missiles and unmanned aerial systems. The partnership aims to expand manufacturing capacity and strengthen defense industrial cooperation between the two countries.
A Ukrainian and a Polish defense company have signed an agreement to jointly develop and manufacture small turbojet engines intended for cruise missiles and long range unmanned aerial systems, marking another step in expanding defense industrial cooperation between Kyiv and Warsaw.
The agreement covers the development, production, and supply of propulsion systems for Ukrainian missile and drone programs. According to the companies, the cooperation is also intended to increase manufacturing capacity, localize selected technologies in Ukraine, and establish the foundation for broader industrial collaboration in the future.
The partnership was formalized during the Eurosatory 2026 defense exhibition in Paris. The companies indicated that the project focuses on compact turbojet engines suitable for cruise missiles and strike drones, reflecting Ukraine's continued effort to expand domestic production of long range precision strike capabilities while integrating support from European industry.
The initiative also supports Poland's growing role in regional defense manufacturing. Warsaw has continued to deepen industrial cooperation with Ukraine as both countries seek to strengthen production capacity for critical defense equipment and reduce supply chain constraints.
The latest agreement comes as Ukraine continues to prioritize domestic production of missiles and unmanned systems, with propulsion technology representing one of the key components required to sustain higher output of indigenous strike platforms.
