Bosnian defense industry company Zrak has reported progress in its recovery efforts, with employment levels nearly doubling and production activities operating without major disruptions, according to officials involved in the firm's restructuring process. The developments were presented during a visit by representatives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry.

Federal Minister Vedran Lakić stated that the recovery program launched approximately two and a half years ago is delivering measurable results. According to the ministry, the company has secured sufficient workload to maintain operations, while employees are receiving regular salaries and social contributions, issues that had previously posed significant challenges for the manufacturer.

A central element of the recovery effort has been cooperation with BNT-TMiH Novi Travnik, which was selected as a strategic partner for the Sarajevo-based company. Federation officials described the arrangement as a model for industrial cooperation within the entity's defense sector and credited the partnership with helping stabilize production and business operations.

Officials said the ultimate objective is to complete Zrak's restructuring, achieve a formal exit from bankruptcy proceedings, and continue modernizing production capabilities. The company, known for manufacturing optical and aiming systems for military applications, has faced financial difficulties for several years and entered bankruptcy proceedings in 2023.

The recovery of Zrak is being closely watched within Bosnia and Herzegovina's defense-industrial base, where authorities have sought to preserve production capacity and maintain skilled employment. The company's future development is expected to depend on sustained order flow, workforce growth, and the successful completion of its restructuring process.
